Our core product 4PLAN HR is more than just a tool – it is the result of decades of experience, customer feedback and technological advancement.

Our History
Our roots date back to 1992, when our founder and managing director Hans-Dirk Brinkmann developed an IT-supported solution for workforce requirements and cost planning for a retail group as part of his thesis. Subsequently, as an employee of the company, he designed additional specialised controlling solutions. This sparked his vision of creating a standardised HR controlling solution that would support any business. He imagined it to be easily adaptable to different companies’ requirements through customisation whilst always relying on the same core software.
With this in mind he founded Software4You together with a partner and subsequently Software4You Planungssysteme GmbH in 1998. Since then, we have continuously improved 4PLAN HR and kept it up to date both professionally and technologically to fulfil our promise of World Class HR Controlling. First customers such as METRO and Henkel adopted the system early on – and continue to use it to this day.

In 2025 Software4You became part of the international nordic Timgrip-Group – a unification with great potential.
